Rodrigo Oropeza – Fotógrafo
(México, 1979.)
Fotógrafo autodidacta. Participó en el Seminario de Fotografía Contemporánea del Centro de la Imagen (2007) y en el Internado Creativo organizado por el Gimnasio de Arte y Cultura en San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. Obtuvo el primer lugar en el Concurso Latinoamericano de Fotografía Documental en Medellin, Colombia, en el año de 2012. Seleccionado de Trasatlántica 2014 de Photoespaña en Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Nominado para el Prix Pictect del año 2015 con el trabajo “Caminos alternos para el entendimiento de la muerte”. Finalista del Concurso Iberoamericano de Fotografía Nexofoto 2015. Su serie Paisajes Internos fue parte de la exhibición de La Hydra, Plataforma fotográfica y Televisa en la feria MACO Arte Contemporáneo México 2015. Expositor invitado por el Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (CONACULTA) para formar parte en el festival ALT + 1000 en Rossiniere, Suiza. Participó en la exposición “Develar y Detonar Fotografía en México ca. 2015” en el Palacio de Cibeles dentro del marco del festival Photoespaña 2015 celebrado en Madrid, España. Su trabajo formó parte de la exposición “Cielo. Perro. Lobo” en el festival internacional Guatephoto 2015 y del libro “Develar y Detonar Fotografía en México ca. 2015” editado por RM y Televisa.
Rodrigo Oropeza is a self-taught photographer.
He participated in the Contemporary Photography Seminar at the Image Center in Mexico City in 2007, as well as the Creative Internship Program, organized by the Art and Culture Center of San Cristóbal de las Casas, in Chiapas, Mexico.
Rodrigo went on to win first place in the Latin American Documentary Photography Competition in Medellin, Colombia (in 2012), then was selected for the Transatlantic Program at Photoespaña in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. (2014)
In 2015, Rodrigo was nominated for the Prix Pictect, for "Alternate Paths to Understanding Death," and was a finalist in the Nexofoto Ibero-American Photography Competition. His series "Internal Landscapes" was part of the "La Hydra" photographic platform exhibition, and shown on Televisa, as part of the MACO Contemporary Art Mexico 2015 fair.
Rodrigo was invited by the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CONACULTA), to take part in the Alt+1000- Festival of photography in Rossiniere, Switzerland. He then participated in the exhibition "Unveil and Detonate; photography in Mexico ca. 2015," at the Palacio de Cibeles, within the framework of the Photoespaña 2015 festival, in Madrid, Spain.
He had works shown at the exhibition "Sky. Dog. Wolf,” at the Guatephoto 2015 International Festival, in Guatemala City, and featured in the book "Unveil and Detonate; photography in Mexico ca. 2015," edited by RM and Televisa.
